Basis

In Elvenar kun je per volk 5 volksspecifieke eenheden ontgrendelen, waarna je ze kunt trainen in de Kazerne. Beide volkeren hebben ook 10 gedeelde eenheden die ze kunnen trainen in het Oefenterrein en het Huurlingenkamp. De eenheden van zowel Elven als Mensen zijn gelijkwaardig in kracht, maar hun tactische stijl verschilt.

Beide volkeren beginnen met lichte Mêlee. Het belangrijkste verschil tussen Elven en mensen voor deze eenheden, is dat mensen meer schade toebrengen maar een zwakkere verdediging hebben, terwijl dat bij de elven meer in balans is.

Beide rassen krijgen later ook toegang tot Lichte afstand, Tovernaren, Zware Mêlee en Zware afstandseenheden.

Daarbovenop zal je bij het bezoeken van Provincies op de Wereldkaart ook nog andere eenheden ontdekken waartegen je kunt vechten. Deze vijandelijke troepen zijn sterk afhankelijk van het type Provincie en de afstand tot je stad.

Op de eerste eenheid na, die al direct samen met de Kazerne wordt ontgrendeld, zal je alle eenheden moeten ontgrendelen met een aparte technologie in het Onderzoeksmenu. Ook kun je alle technieken van je eenheden verbeteren door de bijbehorende "Promotie" te onderzoeken.

Eenheid Informatie

Wanneer je de Kazerne hebt gebouwd, kun je meer informatie opvragen over alle eenheden, zelfs de eenheden die nog niet zijn ontgrendeld. Dit doe je door op hun informatie-icoon te klikken Info. Je krijg dan de volgende "Eenheden Informatie" te zien:

Elke eenheid heeft een level, aangegeven met de hoeveelheid sterren, in het Leger instellen scherm kan je deze sterren onder de plaatjes van de eenheden zien.
2 Eenhedentype - Elke Eenheid heeft een Type dat is toegekend aan een bepaalde Klasse.
3 Eenhedenklasse - Elke Klasse omschrijft de tactische groep waartoe een Eenhedentype behoort.
4 Beste tegen - Hier kan je zien tegen welke klasse deze eenheid een bonus heeft. Dit kan een aanvals of verdedigingsbonus zijn, als je met je muis over het icoontje heen gaat kan je mee informatie zien. Hoe meer zwaardjes hoe beter!
5 Schade
Schade
De exacte schade van een aanval wordt willekeurig bepaald op basis van het schadebereik van de betreffende eenheid.

Dit is de maximum afstand waarop een eenheid kan aanvallen.

Dit is het aantal velden dat een eenheid kan afleggen in 1 beurt.

Initiatief
De eenheid met het hoogste initiatief zal eerder aan de beurt zijn in een gevechtsronde.
10 Gewicht
Gewicht
Eenheden hebben een verschillend gewicht. Hoe groter het gewicht, hoe minder eenheden je nodig hebt om een Troep te vullen. Hoe groter het gewicht, hoe moeilijker het is om een eenheid uit een troep te doden in een gevecht.
11 Terugslaan
Terugslaan
Deze vaardigheid zorgt ervoor dat een eenheid automatisch terugslaat wanneer het wordt aangevallen van dichtbij, maar het werkt maar eens per ronde. Als een eenheid deze vaardigheid heeft, zie je het nummer "1". Wanneer een eenheid niet terug kan slaan, zie je een "0".
12 Speciale Vaardigheden - Hier vind je spreuken of toegevoegde effecten op een aanval. Wanneer je je muis over dit icoon beweegt, zul je de omschrijving zien.

Klassen

In Elvenar vind je 5 Klassen van eenheden: Lichte Mêlee, Lichte Afstand, Tovenaar, Zware Mêlee en Lange Afstand.

Iedere Klasse heeft bepaalde Eenhedentypes toegewezen gekregen. Hoewel Zwaarddansers, Bijlkrijgers, Cerberus en Orks bijvoorbeeld allemaal verschillende eenhedentypes zijn, behoren ze allen tot dezelfde Klasse: Lichte eenheid. Het zijn allen lichte vechters op korte afstand, dus ondanks het feit dat ze verschillende gevechtsstrategieën hebben, zullen ze gelijkwaardige waardes hebben voor levenspunten en schade.

Speciale Vaardigheden

Sommige eenheden hebben speciale vaardigheden om de verdediging van vijanden omlaag te halen, waardoor de schade die de volgende eenheden aan hen toebrengen, groter is. Anderen hebben de krachten om de aanvalskracht van de vijand te verminderen, waardoor je je eigen troepen kunt beschermen. Deze vaardigheden kunnen bij elkaar toegevoegd worden om meer schade te doen, of minder te incasseren.
